Northern Flags was task to print the banners for this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed. With Northern Flags turning around the print in 48 hours of over 750m2 of PVC banners to custom shapes for the motocross ramps along with sponsors branding.

The arena featured Freestyle Motocross, Motorbike Trials, Minibike Freestyle, BMX and Mountain Bike Trials. Not only were all of these disciplines on show but they were all within one arena and riding at the same time showcasing some of the best riders in the world to the 180,000 strong crowd that attended
Goodwood.

The GAS arena performed two main shows each day throughout the 4 days with additional Mountain bike trials displays each day as well as the best trick competition from the Freestyle Motocross boys.

The riders list reads as a who’s who within two wheel action sport with the likes of Red Bull’s Robbie Maddison, Jamie Squibb, Thomas Pages, Jeremy Rouanet and Chris Birch on the Freestyle Motocross. Dougie Lampkin, James Dabill and Alex Wigg on trials, Kye Forte, Leo Forte, Matt Priest and Lima Eltham on BMX, Danny McKascill, Martyn Ashton and Blake Samson on the mountain bike trials and
finally Dan Whitby, Samson Eaton, Aaron Powley and Nick Cole on the Freestyle Minibikes.

Northern Flags wins two of the UK’s newest Marathon’s.

Events Manager Stuart can confirm today that Northern Flags has been chosen as the print partner to Liverpool Marathon and the MBNA Chester Marathon.

“It’s fantastic that we have sourced another two major sporting events to our portfolio. With both marathons having attracted more than 5,000 people taking place in their first year they have already secured themselves as major marathons within the UK”

Bauer Radio Development Director Iain Clasper has left the radio industry after nearly 30 years to become MD of a flag and marketing materials firm.

He’s previously worked for stations including Juice, Red Dragon, Hallam and Viking.

Iain has spent the last seven years with Bauer, most recently as Development Director, and held a number of senior roles in Bauer and predecessor Emap – as well as previously being National Sales Director for the former Metro Radio Group. His radio career started while he was still at school when he presented the rock show on Moray Firth Radio.

He’s taking up the role of Managing Director of Northern Flags, based in Leeds. Iain said: “Leaving Radio has been a wrench as it has been such a part of my life from adolescent spots to the first signs of grey hair. I have loved it, particularly recent digital launches and winning so many awards at Hallam FM and Station of the Year while at Juice FM. Northern Flags has however given me the opportunity of leading a significant growth plan over the next few years along with the opportunity of becoming a shareholder. I expect to be working with many Radio Stations on their external marketing as Northern Flags are one of the leaders in the production of custom printed event and display solutions.”

Northern Flags have secured a working partnership with Selfridges to supply the famous yellow flags for the store on Oxford Street. We will supply a complete service to the company including providing the high quality sewn flags on Duke Street along with the iconic rooftop flags for the London Branch.

Northern Flags have also confirmed that they will assist Selfridges with the maintenance and upkeep of the Flagpoles and look to work closely with the store on any upcoming promotional work.

The Dutch Faber Flags Group has managed to secure an order for 50.000 Thai flags. These flags will soon be decorating all Thai government buildings both at home and abroad.

Bert Cesar, Executive Director of the Dutch-Thai Chamber of Commerce, announced that the Faber Flags Group has signed a contract with the Thai government for the supply of 50.000 Thai flags during the presentation of the NTCC award in Bangkok. The Amsterdam based Faber Flags settled in Bangkok with its own factory and sales office over a year ago. Faber Thailand is now looking after the majority share of the Faber Group needs, which is represented in 11 countries across 4 continents. In addition to the Thai production site, Faber also has an impressive digital printing company in Poland and its own clothing manufacturing facilities in Romania. Faber is therefore one of the biggest producers of printed advertising textiles in the world.

The Saucony Stanmer Park Races will take place on Sunday 26th June 2011 in the scenic grounds of Stanmer Park, 3.5 miles north east of Brighton city centre.

This new event is being organised by The Grounded Events Company, the organisation behind the Brighton Marathon.

The race programme comprises an 8km run on grassland and woodland trail, a 1 km family run on grass, and a series of 2km races on grass for children in different age categories. The programme also includes two elite 5-mile races featuring some of Britain’s top distance runners competing against Brighton's young up-and-coming stars.

Northern Flags will be responsible for producing all street branding along with flags, correx and PVC banners.  Some of the past events that the group have been  responsible or include The Manchester Commonwealth Games, The Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City and The Athens Olympics.
